Who We Are

The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic men's charitable organization founded in 1882 by a young priest named Father Michael J McGivney in the basement of St. Mary's Church in New Haven, CT.  The original intent was to establish a lay organization to prevent Catholic men from entering secret societies antithetical to Church teaching, unite Catholic men, and help families of deceased members.

Locally, we are based out of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Valley City, OH.  We are located in the heart of the Medina Buckeye School District and serve the community around us in Medina and Lorain Counties.  Our programs are based on the Knights of Columbus foundational pillars of Charity, Fraternity, Unity, and Patriotism.

We support local charities like Medina Cares, Robby's Voice, Faith In Action, and Operation Homes, along with national patriotic organizations Operation: Quiet Comfort and the Tunnel 2 Towers Foundation.  We also provide support to pregnancy centers like Oaks Family Care Center.

One of our most recognizable projects can be found on the church campus - the Dunphy-Waldron Pavilion was built with money raised by our Council and dedicated in June of 2017.
